Welcome to "Go Ape!" Week

All this week on the blog, I'll be remembering the Planet of the Apes franchise to celebrate the release of the new film, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014).

I'll be reviewing that particular entry next Tuesday morning, but in the meantime, I'll spend today looking at the five original feature films (Planet to Battle, 1968 - 1973).

Tuesday will be devoted to the 1974 TV series starring Roddy McDowall, and Wednesday will involve merchandise.

Thursday will explore the Return to the Planet of the Apes Saturday morning cartoon (1975), and Friday will be devoted to modern re-boots, both the 2001 Tim Burton film and the 2011 effort, Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

So I humbly invite you to go ape with me!
