Action Figure of the Week: Alien (1979; Kenner)

  1. Is anyone else finding something a tad odd about the idea of marketing toys based on a film that was rated "R"? I was nine when it came out. All my classmates knew about the movie, all of us wanted to see it - it was a "space" movie after all and we were all of the "minds blown by Star Wars" generation but none of us actually got to see Alien until years later!

  2. My brother got me this for Christmas, much to my parent's consternation. They'd heard all the hype about it (an "R rated" toy being marketed to kids). I didn't mind in the least. My Shogun Warrior Raydeen, Godzilla, and my King Kong doll had a new wrestling opponent!
