For my second Flashbak article this week, I jumped a decade from 1973 to look at the genre offerings of 1983.
This was the season in which (late) producer Glen A. Larson gave the world two unusual TV superheroes in Automan and Manimal.
Of the two efforts, I prefer Automan, although I'll admit I watched both series through their entire brief runs. But Automan had a great sense of humor about itself, whereas Manimal was often unintentionally funny.
Speaking of funny, Wizards and Warriors, another short-lived series of 1983, also premiered, and gave the dungeons and dragons milieu a kind of campy make-over.
