The 2012 Documentary Summit

I’m very pleased to announce some great information today about the upcoming Documentary Summit on September 29th  and 30th in Raleigh-Durham, NC.

Sponsored by The Documentary Film Makers Handbook, Full Frame Festival, The Southern Documentary Fund and The Empowerment Project, The Documentary Summit is basically a two day non-fiction conference.

It features seminars from expert speakers and offers a great opportunity to share, connect, learn and collaborate.  This event’s Speakers include Eric Johnson from Trailblazer Studios on a composer panel, filmmaker Cynthia Hill (February One), DP/filmmaker Rex Miller, Rachel Raney of The Southern Documentary Fund, filmmaker/editor Elizabeth Haviland James, a funding panel, and much more.

The press release for the summit reads “Find collaborators. Get insights. Leave inspired.”  That sounds pretty darn good to me.

I’ve been in touch with the organizers, and they have agreed to offer a discount for the event to readers of this blog.

The normal cost of a ticket is $179.00 but if you use the promotional code MUIR when you order your tickets, you get forty dollars off, or a ticket at $139.00.

I hope any readers and film lovers in the NC area can avail themselves of the opportunity to attend what promises to be a great summit.  And if you do go, I’d love to get a correspondents’ report on the event for readers.
