  1. Hello John,

Ever since I stumbled upon your “horror films of the 1980's” a few years ago I have highly enjoyed your writing (particularly the “films of john carpenter” book). I believe it was ebert who said you read a critic not to blindly follow, but to read his/her opinions and enjoy them on their own merit, and what it says about their mind, not merely the film itself.

In that same regard I would like to note my jovial disagreement with your lowly assessment of Halloween III: Season of the witch. I think it's a fun, humorous film, and should be enjoyed on those points.

I delve far deeper into via a post on my tumblr, and humbly offer you a link, that you may get some amusement out of it, or have some interesting food for thought.

Again, I hope you derive some pleasure out of it, and I would love to hear your opinion on it. In all cases, I look forward to getting my hands on your “horror film of the 90's” book and further writings from you. Thanks for being an engaging writer.

    Sincerely,
    Rhade-Zapan

PS: You don't have to publish this comment, it was meant really for you alone, although I admit delight if you did draw attention to the page and other people got a different view of that much maligned film.
