Movie Trailer: The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997)

  1. For more than 20 years I have been waiting for Spielberg to direct a balls-out, Rated-R horror film. He's a master filmmaker without peer, yet his only horror production is 'Poltergeist'. And I am one of those who believe that he more than produced 'Poltergeist'. It had the look and feel of a Spielberg film, it literally screamed "Spielberg-directed-film" and Spielberg has as much admitted it in subsequent interviews. And going against the grain, I do not qualify 'Jaws' as a horror film, sorry, I know John described 'Jaws' as a horror film for grown-ups in his book Horror Films of the 70's, but I just don't see it as nothing but a great, escapist adventure film.

Spielberg certainly has a mean streak in film, if he were to make a true horror film, I believe he would join Ridley Scott and William Friedkin who are non-genre directors, yet still have directed landmark, hall of fame horror films.
