Superheroes of: The 1990s


Powered by the success of Tim Burton's Batman (1989), the nineties saw superhero cinema rise and become a dramatic force at the box office.

Although period superhero films largely failed, the Batman saga thrived...at least until 1997. And the 1990s is also the first decade that saw a number of superheroes of color on the big screen.
