  1. I remember my brother having that D&D manual when I was very young and wishing to death I knew how to read so I could dive into a book with such an awesome cover. Only years later do I fully appreciate what an outstanding work of commercial art that is; the dynamic angles and vectors drawing your eyes into the center of the action, the exquisitely rendered pile of gold which could not have been easy to draw, and that incredibly cool dragon. Elmore is/was fantastic.
