The first is Mission: Impossible, 'The Seal'.
ReplyDeleteGreat actor.
Meredith:
ReplyDeleteRight on the money! That's Darren McGavin in MI's second season story, "The Seal." Nicely done.

The fourth one is from Midnight of the Century, a second season episode of Millennium, right?
ReplyDeleteJosef: Yep, # 4 is Millennium's second season show, "Midnight of the Century." McGavin played Frank Black's father.
ReplyDeleteNice job!
JKM
He was a great actor Meredith.
ReplyDeleteWell John, since it's not A Christmas Story, which is generally in heavy rotation at my house, I'm guessing on the potential photos.
I'll leave the episode titles to you or another reader.
Kolchak, The Martian Chronicles and The X-Files?
Sci Fi Fanatic:
ReplyDeleteExcellent guesses. You are right about Kolchak ("Horror in the Heights") and The X-Files ("Aqua Mala"), but the other one is NOT the Martian Chronicles!
Good job, though!
best,
JKM
The third one is from an episode of "The Hitchhiker", called "Nightshift". If you ever wanted to see Margot Kidder make out with Stephen McHatttie, THIS is your episode. In fact, if you are curious, you can watch it free on Hulu.com

BT:
ReplyDeleteCongrats -- you got it! "Nightshift" is an episode of The Hitchhiker featuring McGavin as a vampire!
Nicely done!

I find McGavin relentlessly sexy. I didn't get it growing up, but now totally see what the fuss is all about. One of the last great grizzled men in film.
ReplyDeleteHe was actually in a Danielle Steel adaptation called Perfect Strangers. He's the older man this foxy fox marries, but he dies and she goes for Robert Urich. Wow, two beautiful men in one movie?!? Love it!
OK, I'll stop drooling now! :)
