30 Years Ago: Wes Craven's New Nightmare (1994)
The tenth birthday of cinematic boogeyman Freddy Krueger should have been a big deal to start with, that's for sure. Why? Well, in the ...

Last year at around this time (or a month earlier, perhaps), I posted galleries of cinematic and TV spaceships from the 1970s, 1980s, 1...

The robots of the 1950s cinema were generally imposing, huge, terrifying, and of humanoid build. If you encountered these metal men,...
It's funny that within 24 hours we both clipped shots of John Colicos, but for different reasons.
ReplyDeleteShot 5 is Colicos as Baltar. Classic Battlestar Galactica. Just watched a bit of it last night for a clip of Colicos opposite Jonathan Harris [Lost In Space] as Lucifer.
Frame 1 is Kor from 'Errand of Mercy', ST TOS.
ReplyDeleteSci-Fi Fanatic and Meredith:
ReplyDeleteNice job, to both readers! You have book-end identified the photos of Mr. Colicos. Frame # 1 is indeed Kor from Star Trek, "Errand of Mercy" and Frame 5 is Colicos as Baltar.
good job!
best,
JKM
I'm sure shot 3 is from The Starlost !! And 2 maybe is Mission Impossible, but haven't got a clue about that 4th one !!
ReplyDeleteAndrew:
ReplyDeleteYou are terrific. Shot # 3 is from The Starlost, absolutely! And number 2 is from Mission:Impossible. Outstanding!
best,
JKM
Hello John. I hope you and your family are well and happy.
ReplyDeleteThe fourth photo of Mr. Colicos is from one of my favorite Night Gallery episodes, 'Lone Survivor'. I love the close-up shot of him as he tells us what it was like when the Titanic sank. He is so believable and his face is so alive with expression. He was a wonderful actor!
Thank you, John!

I've since tried to have that and the other episodes of The Starlost removed from my brain but they keep returning to torment me, now this picture has set me back from 3 months of therapy !! :) As for picture 4, well that's bugging me now !!!! :)
ReplyDeleteHey Faninawe!
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear from you! I miss you! Thank you for everything you did on behalf of my show The House Between. You have my eternal gratitude.
And, you nailed it -- that photo is indeed from Night Gallery, and you got the episode too "Lone Survivor." Brilliant
Andrew, I'm sorry I sent you backwards into a Cordwainer Bird relapse! My apologies! :)
best,
JKM
I am too late to play, but I saw these pictures and was all, "BALTAR!"
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome character he was!
I watched all the episodes of The Starlost on DVD and it was a lot of fun. At times, I thought this is not so bad and it's interesting...then there were a few that were nearly unbearable. And the science...the SCIENCE!!

Let me guess.
ReplyDeleteNumber 1 - Commander Kor, Star Trek "Errand of Mercy".
Number 2 - That looks like Mission Impossible. Probably the episode where he plays a Eastern European.
Number 3 - The Governor, The Starlost "The Goddess Calabra". (Showing one of the most appealing smiles ever seen on TV.)
Number 4 - The Lone Survivor, Night Gallery "The Lone Survivor".
Number 5 - Count Baltar, Battlestar Galactica. I think it's the episode "Baltar's Escape".
My favourite actor of all time.
#3 is Mr. Colicos as Milos Kuro in the Mission Impossible episode "The Play". Also liked him as Taal Jankowski in "The Reluctant Dragon". Good Cold War episode.
ReplyDeleteJohn Colicos is my all-time favorite actor. Loved him as Kor and Baltar is my favorite sci-fi villain. So wish we could have seen Baltar developed more and get some of his past.
