  1. That show had one of the best soundtrack ever I think.

  2. Stirring intro music. I also remember that much as we all loved watching the show we also (even as 8 and 9 year olds) got a chuckle out of the intro narration which was written by someone who apparently had no idea what the words he was using meant! I remember in my elementary school class probably more than half of us were regular viewers of Star Trek and Space 1999 even before Star Wars exploded on the scene. Probably the only generation more knowledgeable about space travel, astronomy and science fiction were the boomers around during the 60's glory days of manned spaceflight.

When the internet came into my life I loved finding out what the original Japanese name for the show translated as!

  3. Battle actually arrived in the US in 1978. It aired at one point 6 days a week in my market (Albany NY). The casting was heavy on Hanna-Barbera, with Bill Woodson as the announcer, plus Casey Kasem, Janet Waldo, Keye Luke, & Ronnie Schell, all of whom were associated with H-B (Kasem & Woodson were also heard on Super Friends).
