#10 Roedecker (If nothing else, I'll catch the Millennium one's and leave Star Trek, Buffy and Firefly to the pro's... It's not fair if not by memory...)
ReplyDelete#14 (embarrassed I know it, but I think that is Oracle from Birds of Prey)
Thanks again for all the great posts!
Hi Russ,
ReplyDeleteThank you for the kind words about the blog, and thanks for playing.
Great job on the first identifications of the day.
Yep, you correctly recognized Roedecker from Millennium (#10) and Oracle from the short-lived Birds of Prey (#14). Excellent!
best,
JKM

Hi Le0pard13,
ReplyDeleteExcellent job, my friend -- you just id'd seven of our friends in tech support. All your identifications were absolutely correct.
Outstanding!
best,
john
#2 Scotty from Star Trek TOS
ReplyDelete#6 Geordi LaForge from ST:TNG
#8 Miles O'Brien from ST:DS9
#9 B'Elanna Torres from ST:VGR
#11 Willow from Buffy the Vampire Slayer
#13 Chloe from 24
#15 Kaylee from Firefly

Hi Mike and Rosalyn,
ReplyDeleteGreat job on these remaining identifications. You've taken three more of these images right off the table, #11 (Willow on Buffy), #17 (Chloe Sullivan on Smallville), and #20 (Topher on Dollhouse).
Outstanding job!!!
Best,
John
#7 is Amanda Pays as Tina McGee on the 1990 series The Flash, starring John Wesley Shipp.
ReplyDeleteHi Hugh,
ReplyDeleteYep -- absolutely. That's Amanda Pays as tina McGee from the one-season wonder The Flash (a damn fine show...). Excellent job!
best,
John
#3 is Sandra Benes (Zienia Merton) from Space:1999, the episode is 'The Beta Cloud', I believe.
ReplyDelete~~Meredith
Hi Meredith!
ReplyDeleteYep, you correctly identified Sandra Benes (Zienia Merton) from Space:1999. And you also tagged the correct episode, "The Beta Cloud" from Year Two!
Great job!
best,
John
Hi John et al
ReplyDeleteYou Americans ... tsshhh ... number 5 is the wonderful Silver in "Sapphire and Steel" played by the magnificent David Collings (who we've never seen much of on tv, for some strange reason).
Right now my job is done ... back to the third series of Millenium. Lance is god!!
Best wishes
Harvey P, Christchurch, NZ
Harvey P:
ReplyDeleteGreat job! I'm a huge Sapphire and Steel fan, so it's always nice to meet someone who remembers the show; and Silver (David Collings).
Outstanding job on a tough identification!
best,
JKM
#4 is Prof. Frank Heflin staying in contact with Electrawoman via her streamlined "Electracom".
ReplyDelete#4: Professor Frank Heflin (Norman Alden), from Electra Woman and Dyna Girl.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you included Mac from Veronica Mars! (#18) I was hoping she'd be in there when I pulled up the post.
ReplyDeleteHi everyone:
ReplyDeletejdigriz and Fang Shih-yu: great job identifying tech support man of the disco era, Frank Heflin (Norman Alden) of Electra Woman and Dyna Girl! Excellent job!
Bobby: Yes, that's the awesome Mac (one of my favorites too, along with Chloe Sullivan on Smallville) from Veronica Mars. I still miss Veronica Mars. *sigh*
Anyway, everyone's doing a terrific job of whittling these identifications down. We're down to just a few left...
best,
John
Man these last 3 ones are hard.
ReplyDeleteBut one of them jogged my memory so I dug around the ones I could think of and number 19 is Kevin Rankin as Nathan in Bionic Woman.
For 16 I thought maybe someone from Threshold but nah, doesn't fit anyone. And it's way too neat to be anything from Painkiller Jane.
Number 12 reminds me of Michael C. Hall or the character Danny in CSI: NY. But I doubt you have that kind of shows in here (CSIs).
I give up.
Cheers from Iceland!
- Jósef
Hi Josef!
ReplyDeleteThe last three are tough ones, indeed, but you've successfuly nabbed one! You are right about #19, that's Kevin Rankin as Nathan, from the 2007 re-imagination of Bionic Woman.
But #12 and #16 are still out there. I'll give a hint: both of these tech-support guys come from series created by high-powered film directors.
best,
John
I read your essays as they are published and I'm always amazed at the depth of them. Thanks for the obvious amount of time and love involved in your project. As for #12, I believe it's Micheal Weatherly as Logan Cale on Dark Angel. Thanks again, Dutch
ReplyDeletedutch2u:
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the appreciative words about my writing. They mean a lot to me. I really do love this blog, the conversation with the amazing readership, and film/tv criticism! I spend a lot of time writing here, and every minute of it is a labor of love.
And yes -- absolutely -- that's Michael Weatherly as Logan Cale in Dark Angel. Great job nailing a tough id!
Now we're down to the last on!
best wishes, and thanks,
JKM
I'm surprised nobody else has come up with Marshall Flinkman from Alias for #16.
ReplyDeleteI kind of wanted to grow up to be him. Just less socially awkward.
Nate:
ReplyDeleteYou rock! You put together the last piece of the techs upport puzzle. That is indeed the brilliant if socially-awkward Marshall Flinkman from Alias (2001 - 2005), played by the great Kevin Weisman.
Excellent job.
best,
John
