To Boldly Blog...

In honor of the upcoming Star Trek movie, I'll be blogging some episodes of the original series. Only thing is, I don't want to choose which ones. I want you to choose. I'll probably blog a dozen or so over the year (maybe one a month?), including one Star Trek movie. So in the comments below, let me know which episodes/movie you think I should write about.

Is "And the Children Shall Lead" in my future? "The Way to Eden?" Or will it be "The Squire of Gothos?" (And don't ask me to do re-mastered episodes - which I like - I just want this to be Old School).

Seriously, pick a Trek (classic) and let me know...

How about "The Naked Time" or is that too obvious?

Man, I was honestly just thinking yesterday if you were gonna take requests!

I'm not a Trekkie by any strecth of the imagination, but there's one episode I always will stop and watch if I catch it- "A Piece of the Action"

    Please???

"Wolf in the Fold"? Or a weighing of "The Cage" versus "The Menagerie"?

Two very different suggestions, but how about "Spectre of the Gun" and "Elaan of Troyious"?

Thanks for the welcome! I put your book on Doctor Who up as one of the best out there (ever)--I used it for a paper I presented at a conference a few years ago.

  7. Thank you, Hugh, for the most-welcome comments on my Doctor Who book.

It received a very warm welcome here in the States upon its release (and good reviews), but some of the ensconced Brit scholars of the show didn't care for it. Seems I stepped on someone else's turf without a "by your leave." So it's always nice to receive positive feedback...

  8. For the movie, I'm going to suggest the very first one. It seems to be overlooked in most overviews which either go for a focus on the really good, like 'The Wrath of Khan' and 'The Voyage Home', or fillers like 'The Final Frontier'.

But I think 'The Motion Picture' deserves attention for the jump-start to the franchise's return.

As for an episode.... I'm nominating "Plato's Stepchildren" mostly for guest star Michael Dunn, who portrayed my all-time favorite TV character, Dr. Loveless!
