The original "Hook" trailer is still, to this day, one of the best trailers I've ever seen. I distinctly remember watching on "Entertainment Tonight" in 1991 and being blown away by it and everything it suggested the movie was going to be about. I wanted to see THAT movie, not the actual movie that was eventually released (which I thought was bloated and predictable and creatively uninspired). Whereas the trailer promised something dark and fast-paced and mysterious and scary, the actual movie was shockingly old-fashioned. It's still one of the most disappointing moviegoing experiences I've ever had.
