At Flashbak: Here’s the Story: The Brady Kids Do Horror and Sci-Fi!

My latest piece at Flashbak looks at the post-Brady Bunch sci-fi/horror TV career of the Brady Kids. It's a list that includes Isis, Bigfoot and Wildboy, A Vacation in Hell and...Megapiranha.

"After the cancellation of The Brady Bunch (1969 – 1973), the actors who played the Brady kids got their own (short-lived) variety show, and at least two additional prime time spin offs: 1981’s The Brady Brides and 1990’s The Bradys.

But between such gigs, the actors (all except Susan Olsen -- Cindy) turned to guest appearances on science fiction and horror television, some on Saturday mornings, and some in prime-time.

Here’s a look back at the highlights..." (cont. at Flashbak).

    1. Hi SGB! Thank you for the correction! I shouldn't have let that pass. I'm sorry I missed it! This reminds me to always double check facts before I post, even the ones I *think* I know! :)

  2. John extremely fun revealing of the cast of Brady Bunch 1969-1974 work in science-fiction and horror. "Cousin Oliver" Robbie Rist was in the pilot episode of GALACTICA:1980 with "Mike Brady" Robert Reed too.

    1. Of course you know than John, because you wrote [which I own multiple copies of] AN ANALYTICAL GUIDE TO TELEVISION'S BATTLESTAR GALACTICA (1978-1980 original series) book. It is still the best book on the original series.

    2. Hi SGB:

I always liked Robbie Rist's version of Dr. Zee a little better. He didn't seem so snobby or arrogant. I wonder if he saw Robert Reed on the set, and they reminisced about The Brady Bunch?

  4. For the love of god, John, F@#$%@#ck the brady bunch. Spock is Dead! He was supposed to live for 236 years. I'm totally crushed.

I also went back and rewatched Battlestar Gallactica on Netflix (don't tell anyone; kinda embarrassing). It wasn't as bad as I remembered but Apollo was a really shitty actor. and Sheeba was an airhead. And I really wished the little kid with the robot dog would have died in the fire. " Muffy saved us a again " , sheesh
I also watched half an episode of Galactica 1980 and I thought it was really cool - It reminded me of CHiPS. Go ahead and dial up the ChiPS theme on you tube, you know you want to...
