Television and Cinema Verities #84

"My Friend, Mr. Nobody" was my favorite episode. I love the black-and-white film noir feel to it. I loved the message it had...though I remember it was challenging to talk to "no one"through the whole episode."

- Angela Cartwright discusses playing Penny Robinson in one of Lost in Space's all-time best episodes,  the outer space fairy tale, "My Friend, Mr. Nobody," at the blog Classic Film and TV Cafe (May 15, 2013).

  2. Inarguably the best episode of Lost in Space. If the rest of the series could only have been so good.

    1. I agree; and a big "lol" to your comment "If the rest of the series could only have been so good."

A friend of mine re-explored a few episodes of Lost in Space a couple of years ago. He said to me afterwards, "it's hard to believe that was made at the same time as Star Trek... It looks at least a decade older". I like the basic look of LIS but it definitely looks 'old'. The crappy scripting kills the show for me.

I bought the Season One Lost in Space DVD set when it was released; a few years ago I watched another episode and thought, "why did I buy this?" And I'm the first one to say that the first season of LIS is the strongest of its three years.

Lost in Space is one of those shows that one likes very much in childhood, but when seen with adult eyes... ouch.
