Now Available: Space:1999 Shepherd Moon

I mentioned the upcoming Powys Media releases a couple weeks ago, but now there's more news. The officially licensed Space:1999 anthology, Shepherd Moon is now available for order. Whoo-hoo! (I ordered my copy this morning!).

I'm pleased to announce I have two short stories included in this collection: "The Touch of Venus" (which opens the book...) and "Futility."

There's also "Fallen Star" by Albert Leon, Ken Scott, Lindsey Scott-Ipsen and Raja Thiagarajan.

Then there's "Cargo" by Brian Ball, "Dead End" by E.C. Tubb, "Mission Critical" by Michael Faries, "Spider's Web" by William Latham, "The Astelian Gift" by Emma Burrows and "Remembering Julia" by Stephen Jansen.

In all, the collection is over 270 pages. I can't wait to get my copy and jump in. If you're ready to order, click here.

  1. John,

I'll probably be writing from time to time as I venture through your site. I wasn't aware of this book. I'm assuming it must be purchased through Lulu. I don't see it on Amazon, but I definitely want to buy it.

I recently purchased several books on AMazon and you Forsaken is clearly next to impossible to buy. Any suggestions in where to go for that one as well?

I look forward to checking out Shepherd Moon.

  2. Hey Sci-Fi Fanatic:

Lulu is the place to order Shepherd Moon. I got my copy and it is beautiful.

Forsaken will be reprinted soon, I think. But if you can't wait, some copies are available here, and at reasonable prices!

  3. Perfect! Thanks for the info. I'll bookmark it.
Your book is quite exorbitant via second hand sellers on Amazon.

  4. John, I have your "Exploring" book and it's great -- I will be using it as my main reference in preparing for my 1999 panel at DragonCon in September in Atlanta. (SF TV Classics track.)

Re the new anthology, why Lulu?? Could Powys not swing $20 for its own ISBN?

Thank you so much for the kind words about my book. I appreciate them very much. I wish you best of luck on your panel at DragonCon, and wish I could be there to enjoy it Maybe next year!

Anyway, it's always a pleasure to meet someone else who enjoys Space:1999 so much.

As far as Lulu vis-a-vis Powys, I think it made economic sense this time around to go that way, but I don't know the answer for sure. I will say this: the anthology is gorgeous!

Thanks so much for dropping by, and for the kind words. Break a leg at DragonCon!

    best,
    John
