Reader Top Ten Greatest Horror Films 1960 - 2000: Dave Stewart of Bloody Terror

Dave Stewart, blogger at Bloody Terror -- who is going through all his favorite horror films on that site right now -- contributes our last Wednesday list.  Dave writes:

"Here are my choices alphabetically:

The Brood - 1979

Carrie - 1976

Deep Red - 1975

The Devils - 1971

The Exorcist - 1973

Halloween - 1978

Jaws - 1975

Psycho - 1960

Rosemary’s Baby - 1968

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - 1974."

Dave: A sturdy, well-conceived list, and I am especially happy to see The Brood (1979) make the cut.  I just re-watched that film recently, and it holds up beautifully, especially as a parable for the cycle of domestic violence (and ensuing trauma) continuing from one generation to the next.  Also happy to see De Palma's Carrie make another list...
