Star Trek Anniversary Top 20 Episodes: As Chosen By Blog Readers

I decided to put together the results of the reader "Top 20" Star Trek episodes -- just for fun -- for the final post of the week.

I awarded each episode that came in slots eleven to twenty (+1) point, any that came in ten to two (+2) and any first place episode a score of (+3).

There were a number of ties.

But without further delay, here are the twenty "top" episodes of Star Trek as selected by the readers of this blog who participated.

  2. This was a blast to read and I agree with so many of the picks on this final list. Thanks for pulling this together John, and for the thorough and interesting coverage of each episode of TOS.

  3. I know I missed the starship on this. I didn't have time to write a blurb for each episode, and I found it hard to rank the episodes (so I just listed them in chronological order). That said, here goes:

    1. The Cage: A strong pitch for the series, because it underlines the two types of exploration it was interested in: space, and ideas (psychology). It's a bit unfortunate that they couldn't keep more of Pike's crew (such as Majel Barrett's Number One).

    2. Where No Man Has Gone Before

    3. The Enemy Within

    4. The Carbomite Maneuver

    5. The Menagerie

    6. Balance of Terror

    7. Shore Leave

    8. The Galileo Seven

    9. The Squire of Gothos

    10. Court-Martial

    11. Space Seed

    12. This Side of Paradise

    13. The Doomsday Machine

    14. Metamorphosis

    15. The Trouble with Tribbles

    16. The Immunity Syndrome

    17. The Ultimate Computer

    18. The Tholian Web

    19. The Cloud Minders

    20. All Our Yesterdays
