What struck me most about this movie was the final sequence where they report on the aftermath of the explosion. I had seen so many cool, detached reports of war zone destruction on news shows all my life and never thought much about it. Seeing this report about a city on US soil really hit me in the gut, even though I knew it was fiction. I suddenly realized how disengaged I was to the real horrors going on around the world, many inflicted by our own government's aggression. It changed my perspective on war and nuclear brinksmanship. It also made me more cynical about TV news.Neal Phttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17053148427058126745noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12380553.post-9427829624159775242016-03-25T08:57:08.717-04:002016-03-25T08:57:08.717-04:00Great consideration of this neglected classic. I remember appreciating at the time that the movie went all the way with its premise and didn't cop out at the end.Patrick Murthahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08103905929956454199noreply@blogger.com
