'They' really found their footing after some in-depth analysis of Year One and a degree of retooling; the exception being Maya's metamorphosing powers (the producers lost their footing and fell down into a Psychon volcano).

It's a darn shame that a Year Three did not happen... however, my sane side would toss in here a fitting line from the great series, Star Trek; from the episode "The Conscience of the King": "But it didn't, and history has made its judgement."

I still say it's a darn shame....

Barry
www.barrysmight.blogspot.caBarry Smighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02464450751543573690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12380553.post-62840307717742083142015-09-13T13:41:08.862-04:002015-09-13T13:41:08.862-04:00"The Metamorph" has always been one of m..."The Metamorph" has always been one of my favorite eps. For kids in '76, the 2nd season characters were made more appealing. Not just the added humor, but the attempts to show more of each character's personality and interests.

It's also memorable for another reason. Without seeing any advance publicity (no Entertainment Tonight in ' 76), I turned the tv on one Saturaday night expecting another rerun. I was mesmerized by the new show from the moment the titles began. Those colorful planets, nebula, and explosions were just so cool! The groovy new music! The more stylish uniforms (skirts for the ladies). The Eagle with the booster pods...the Eagle at its most imposing.

...and Maya. How could one not love Maya. Catherine Schell made the character delightful.
