I forget the terms they used... "Too intense for younger viewers" or some such... And - Believe it or not - They actually edited out some of the more gruesome moments, such as the gutted corpses being ejected, and aired them later in the evening.
This was also done on the episode "Death's Other Dominion", wherein shots of the rapidly rotting corpse which was clutching Helena's arm aboard the eagle, were cut and shown later.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12380553.post-65738429931872030272009-05-07T13:54:00.000-04:002009-05-07T13:54:00.000-04:00Except the 'score' of a good portion of this wonde...Except the 'score' of a good portion of this wonderful episode was not that of the late, great, Barry Grey. "Adagio for strings and organ in G Minor" composed by Tommaso Albinoni is the glorious and haunting music used for the backdrop explaining the failed mission. It's no surprise that Koenig would eventually fulfill the classic role of slaying the monster. What one man with an ax could do!
The separation of the module from the Ultra Probe was more impressive than the one in Buck Roger's "Space Vampire" (that shuttle was just Ardala's shuttle painted white). Barry Gray's score was perfect too. It's hard to imagine this episode being effective with Derek Wadworth's Year 2 music.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
