The other 3 being Halloween, Alien and Phantasm. I have serious acrophobia and while Halloween, Alien and Phantasm no longer scare me. This film does, without fail, on every viewing.
Arachnophobia did nothing for me, this film is king!Trenthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00419980258148279356noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12380553.post-70034847567282797702008-12-22T22:58:00.000-05:002008-12-22T22:58:00.000-05:00Must chime in to agree and add to the shameless lo...Must chime in to agree and add to the shameless love fest for this film. Utter classic - this is one of those movies I will always stop and watch; I'm never NOT in the mood to see it. :-)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12380553.post-82568920210575938932008-12-22T16:00:00.000-05:002008-12-22T16:00:00.000-05:00Don't forget Miss Bolling wears driving gloves.Dri...Don't forget Miss Bolling wears driving gloves.

Driving. Gloves.

That woman is HAWT!

I love this movie and actually have that theme song on CD. It's a great song. So tranquil and then kind of disturbing lyrically, while still coming across like a sweet folk song.

And good god, was Shatner gorgeous or what? I unabashedly adore him in this movie.

I love that this movie feels like a TV movie, and in all respects (minus a small bit of nudity) could have probably been an ABC movie of the week. And you, I love my Movie of the Weeks!

Those were the days!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12380553.post-23369126912873323812008-12-22T00:49:00.000-05:002008-12-22T00:49:00.000-05:00Hey John,Great review of an under appreciated gem!...Hey John,
Great review of an under appreciated gem! As a kid I remember watching this on television and being thoroughly freaked out, especially by the down ending. And Shat is a lot braver than I . . . don't think I'd opt out of having a stuntman on this one : )

I think it is just a reminder of the fact that back then they had to actually do what was called for in the script (matte paintings notwithstanding) because there was no other way to accomplish it. As such, the whole thing felt pretty real . . . because it was. And the fact that they jeopardized kids was also pretty extreme (caused me a fair amount of trauma . . . maybe it's why I can't stand spiders to this day)!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
