Four More Days Till Halloween...
Today's photos from Joseph Maddrey. Name the horror movie! Name the location! (All answers not guessed will be revealed on Halloween!). Stumped?
I can't give any clues that might give away the movie, because John will call me a wuss again... BUT I will point out that photos 1 and 2 are the EXACT SAME LOCATION, taken from different angles. This is one of the most unique filming locations I've ever come across, out in the middle of nowhere!
Joe, thank you for letting us know that photos 1 and 2 are the exact same location!
That gave me what I needed to, hopefully, figure out Photo #1.
The location was the important clue. I discovered that the location is called Four Aces.
The Four Aces is a "rental" filming location in the desert north of Los Angeles. It is a remote and lonely desert gas station/cafe/motel, and appears in film, television, and advertising. It is one of four of these places built in this area. Others include Hi Vista, Club Ed and Belle's Diner.
If you would like to learn more about the location, visit their website:

I read on the internet that films shot at the Four Aces included, among others, Identity and Rob Zombie's House of 1000 Corpses with the Four Aces set up and decorated as Captain Spaulding's Museum of Monsters and Madmen.
So, my guess would have to be that photo #1 is House of 1000 Corpses.
I don't think I have ever seen this movie so, I hope that some research is allowed to facilitate our answers. LOL There are some awesome clips, showing the Four Aces as it appeared in the movie, on YouTube.
How many ways can I tell you that your rock?! Well, here's one more: your answer is absolutely correct. The photo is the location of House of 1000 Corpses, and you named the location as well.
Not sure about 1 and 3 but 2 is definitely from Identity.
ReplyDeleteShit, 3 is from Psycho. I just saw the Bates house up and on the left.
ReplyDeleteIs 1 Psycho 2
ReplyDeleteIs 2 Near Dark
and 3 Psycho and it's sequels ?
Nice job, guys.
ReplyDeleteLee and Andrew, you are both right about photo # 3. It is indeed from Psycho!
And Lee, you ace -- photo #2 is indeed from Identity! Amazing!
Good job!

For #1 I want to say Duel, but it's been forever.
